Job Description
Knowledge Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and comprehend how Joint Staff (JS) users interact with JS core or business process and products. Assist the team with continual assessment of the Joint Staff information environment and recommend improvements using IT and collaborative tools. Provide assessments using IT capabilities and recommend IT process improvement initiatives. Conduct technical analysis as directed by the government to enable data driven decisions to identify options or to validate courses of action in development and execution of Enterprise level services. Assist with the development of SharePoint and Knowledge Management (KM) tools based in support of user requirements. Support the JS in development of a KM strategy in which the JS will centralize data, standardize data elements, share database information, use common IT systems, and expose IT data or services for maximum information sharing.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with providing technical analysis of information environments and knowledge management capabilities to enable development and better usage of KM tools and processes

-Experience with Joint Staff business processes, directives, and directive management systems

-Ability to develop technical papers and presentations with a senior government civilian and military leadership audience

-TS/SCI clearance

-MS degree in Engineering or CS and 5 years of experience in a Knowledge Engineering or Knowledge Management role

-Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD): App Builder Certification or previous MCSD: SharePoint Applications

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with or serving on the Joint Staff or Service Major Headquarters staff

-Experience with National Military Command Center (NMCC) and the National Joint Operations and Intelligence Center (NJOIC)

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
