Job Description

Nalco Water an Ecolab Company is seeking a new Process Engineerto join our team in Clearing, IL. As a Process Engineer, your main focus will be to support and improve current plant processes with safety, quality and process improvement projectsat ourin our Energy Services group. Ecolab is currently a $13B Fortune 500 Company and supply chain enabled sales will be a big part of our future growth.

In this role, you will lead technical efforts to develop and integrate manufacturing processes for new and significantly revised products. We are seeking an engineer to analyze material or efficiency losses, to develop engineering solutions, and to plan and implement projects from approval through commissioning to recognize objectives. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple different departments and will lead the team to ensure projects conform to local, regional, national, and corporate safety, environmental, and other applicable standards.

What You Will Do:

  • Apply engineering skills and experience to improve plant safety, quality, throughput, and cost by planning and executing engineering projects while meeting project cost and schedule objectives.

  • Support efforts to identify areas within the operations function where safety, quality, delivery, and cost may be improved.

  • Prepare process designs by studying capability and reliability; estimating maintenance, operating, and energy costs; assessing safety and environmental compliance; specifying start-up and operating procedures.

  • Contribute and conduct the design and engineering of a wide variety of chemical processing, filling, packaging, and material handling equipment.

  • Upgrade process design by investigating proposed changes in plant operations. Establish projects by screening alternatives to select an optimum solution. Prepare project basis documentation by completing cost and economic return studies. Lead the execution of projects.

  • Establish and maintain process metrics and take corrective actions for process deviations. Lead incremental process improvement initiatives to optimize existing processes.

  • Prepare operators by conducting training. Provide the technical leadership to ensure application of Lean techniques.

  • Provide technical expertise to facilitate a robust process safety program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2 years of experience in a chemical, food, or related manufacturing environment

  • Process/Project engineering experience

  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field

  • 5 years of experience in a chemical, food, or related manufacturing environment

  • 5 years of process / project engineering experience

  • 2 years of process safety management experience

  • World Class manufacturing and TPM experience
