Position Summary | The Weiss Lab at The University of Georgia's Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (www.ccrc.uga.edu) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Professional to join our laboratory and contribute to drug discovery studies in models of rare disease. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting preclinical research aimed at identifying novel therapeutic targets and evaluating potential treatments for these conditions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in a collaborative and dynamic environment and will provide multidisciplinary training in mammalian cell culture, preclinical drug discovery, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, and structural analysis of glycans. Research Professional responsibilities include mouse colony maintenance, mammalian tissue/cell culture, in vivo drug discovery studies, and lab management. The position involves the application of CRISPR/Cas9 technologies, high-throughput drug screening, and mass spectrometry applications. The Research Professional will assist with these tasks after appropriate training. The position also involves preparation of writing reports, mentoring students/trainees, protocol optimization and some method development. |
