The Position

Master Instrumentation Technician

Are you a skilled instrumentation technician looking for an exciting new challenge? Look no further! We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced technician to join our team and support our state-of-the-art process control systems.

The responsibilities for this position at this level may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and installation of analytical and laboratory instruments.

  • Review and process external vendor calibration, PM, and repair documentation per established procedures.

  • Training Requirements

    • Attend cGMP training as required by Department policy.

    • Attend Safety training as required by Department policy.

    • Complete on-the-job training using established training procedures.

  • Ability to interact and communicate appropriately with Manufacturing, Quality, Technology, Engineering, and other departments to ensure satisfactory performance of instruments and systems.

  • Lead and train peer craftspeople in skills necessary to become proficient. Assist management in task/personnel coordination.

  • Implement corrective and preventative actions pertaining to analytical and process instrumentation issues that directly impact manufacturing systems availability.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), local and/or loop controllers to monitor, trend, and analyze data to make corrections or recommendations.

  • Demonstrate proficiency to monitor, trend, and analyze instrument failure data to make corrections or recommendations.

  • Prepare and organize comprehensive calibration procedures/job plans, technical documentation, operational procedures, and associated training materials for advanced instrumentation and processes.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED and one of the following:

    • Completion of an Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering (2-year) curriculum at a technical school with five years experience as an instrument or electronics technician.

    • AA/AS Degree in a related science or engineering major with five years experience as an instrument or electronics technician.

    • Completion of equivalent military training with five years experience as an instrument or electronics technician.

    • Seven years in instrumentation and/or analytical instrumentation or a closely related job.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, engineering documents, and schematics.

  • Thorough knowledge of the fundamental electrical, mechanical, physical, and operating principles of process instrumentation and systems.

  • General knowledge of cGMP and GLP practices.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $81,900.00 - $152,100.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
